The Most Fashionable Clogs

The problem with clogs is that they are always unwieldy, clunky and awkward looking. So how is it that they always seem to be in style? They are noisy, uncomfortable and you can sound like a horse clopping around if you choose the wrong kind. They can be downright ugly as well. However whether you like it or not clogs are in style again this summer for both woman and men.

Crocs weren’t so bad because they were made of rubber. However they were still clogs and they could be so uncomfortable. These are a far cry from the horse clogs that were much more fashionable in the 90s. These looked great with loose cut jeans and Japanese fashions.

One of the reasons that women like clogs is that they can make your legs look quite shapely. The fashion rule is that the shorter the shorts or skirt the better they are going to look in a pair of clogs.

The key to making a pair of clogs look good is contrast. The frillier an outfit is the more it is going to look good with the heft that comes along with a pair of clogs. It’s all about balance. They look the best with A line or tulip flared skirts. They don’t really look that great with very narrow skirts.

Clogs look surprising good with anything leather including long leather pants or leather skirts. If the clogs have studs anthem they can start looking quite sexy.

Leather clogs look good with jeans and bloomer shorts. They also look good with a long skirt. On the runway this spring the Chanel collection was showcased with leather clogs with lots of studs in them. The most striking ones were done in white. Some of these clogs also came with lace ups which gave them quite a kinky look. Karl Lagerfield designed a very high pair of high heels that were spectacular looking but they looked very hard to walk on. Walking in clogs should not be like wearing Japanese torture devices.

The best way to wear a pair of clogs is with a big sense of humor. They were not meant to wear to the office. They do not go well with nylons. However they do go well with a pair of knee socks! However don’t go too far with the knee socks. Striped knee socks can make you look a bit like the “joker.”
