Cool Sandals Coming This Summer

There are a couple of fashion fierce sandal trends coming this summer that you might want to know about.

The first are taffeta and beaded flip f lops. These are incredibly lux flip-flops. Don’t even consider wearing them in the water for two minutes. You will ruin them.

The reason these particular flip flops look so glamorous is because they are made out of moiré taffeta and have a big bow or brooch in the middle. Moire taffeta has an arrowed effect right in the threads that is very attractive and shiny looking. Moire is also very comfortable and because it is textured this type of shoe is not likely to fall off of your feet.

The thing that can really make a pair of flip flops look super glamorous is a big shoe clip. This is true of any wedding beach sandal. Still nothing beats ones that are totally covered in taffeta for comfort and also safety.

A really big trend right now is the heal that is skinny, tapers and is absolutely encrusted with jewels. One of the most to die for pairs is on Net-A-Porter. It is a pair designed by MIU MIU and it has a woven peep toe of gold and silver foil leather. There is also a cross strap and ankle strap.

The most gorgeous thing about the shoe actually is the heel, which is studded with really large rhinestones, the size of quarters and dimes. This cone of flash is supported by a bright gold spike.

Looking for wedding sandals? The designer Manolo Blahnik recommends a pair of silver strappy flats. You can get all kinds of versions of these but the to die for style is apparently the Emily from Kate Spade that retails for about $275.00. . He likes these shoes as they are comfortable and have a bit of a rubberized sole so nobody falls flat on their face on the dance floor after a few drinks. Manolo has a point as the older you are the more prone you are to bunions, calf pains and other problems that could possibly prevent you from dancing.

A trend like this has an odd history. It was first seen in the sixties on the heels of stripper shoes. In the eighties it was worn by very rich Ivana Trump types who wore them with their navy and pastel suits. Now we are seeing them combined with flowing long Grecian style gowns.
