Ideas for Christmas Decorating

Here are some of the newest and trendiest ideas when it comes to Christmas decorating –
Consider getting an upside down tree rather than one that is upright. These types of trees are available widely in their artificial versions and take after an ancient pagan tradition where the trees were nailed to the ceiling and upside down. You could do this with a natural tree but you might want to make sure that you do not ruin your ceiling by doing so and that the tree is not so dry that it showers needles down on your heads. Another challenge is of course to hang the tree so that it is not in the way of anything (especially people’s heads.)
Yet another trend in Christmas decorating is not to use glass balls on the trees but to instead stick to tying ribbons to the tree instead. Unusual non-traditional colored ribbons are very much in style, especially if they are themed in just two colors such as burgundy and gold or pink and yellow. However the old fashioned green and red ribbons will never go out of fashion. As a compromise you might want to consider using plaid green and red ribbons instead. Some people are utilizing the ribbon trend by replacing the fish line that is normally used to hang the Christmas glass balls with shiny or velvet ribbons.
Putting something other than a star at the top of a Christmas tree is also a big trend in Christmas decorating with many people putting angels, Barbie dolls, flower bouquets and family portraits at the top instead.
Another trend in Christmas decorating is to make the tree look a simple and natural as possible. This means dispensing with loads of tinsel or spray on snow and instead opting to leave the tree a little barer looking. This type of tree can be decorated with fruit, nuts, cookies and garlands of cranberries and popcorn strung together.

Another trend when it comes to Christmas decorating is for the artificial white tree. This is a bit of a throwback to the seventies. The taller your white artificial prelit xmas tree is the better and if it is hanging upside down on your ceiling that is all the better!
Christmas decorating doesn’t have to keep you in debt until next fall. There are plenty of online discount sources for Christmas decorations as well as many deals to be had simply by shopping in a dollar store offline.
