Interesting Sneakers Are Back
This season you are going to see more high heeled sneakers than ever. One of the leaders of this trend is the running shoe manufacturer Puma which had its classic “Clyde” shoe revamped by Italian shoe designer Sergio Rossi.
The result is the new Puma line of Clyde shoes which are leather and satin on top of a four inch rubber heel. The shoe is available in bright colors like bright pink and fuschia with complimentary contrasting laces. These shoes are also made in a beautiful silver with white sparkling laces.
Ribcage inspired sneakers are also an artistic, if not very curious trend. Puma offers a collection from Alexander McQueen that is inspired by the anatomical design of the spine and ribcage. They come in a plaid mix of green, white and orange. Like all designer shoes these are quite expensive as they are “sneaker haute couture.”
However rib cage designed sneakers can also be quite demure. Puma also offers anklet style boots in plain colors like black and white that have the Velcro attached rib cage straps up the front of the foot.
Another theme in running shoes that is going to be really big this season is the black and gold running shoe. These too are made by Puma under the Sportie La Line. These are called Cali’s. The back and side panels are solid gold and layered under a black montage. This is mainly a man’s show and on the insole and sole is a montage of females cavorting in a black and white camouflage pattern.
Yet another big trend is for gold sneakers that you can wear on the golf green. Puma made a shoe called the Concord Gold shoes that are designed for golf courses. Wet or dry these flashy leather shoes are breathable and comfortable. They are really something that will put your best foot forward and help you look flashy on the golfing green.
A big trend in general is going tube the color purple. All shades of purple from concord grape to royal purple to fuchsia purple are going to be ins style for this Spring. Yet another important trend in terms of color is towards a dark, inky blue or a blue that is almost a midnight black paired with laces the same color or darker. Compared to the wild look of purple running shoes, these dark blue ones seem almost conservative especially in leather.
If you really want to be weird you can check out the dresses that are being made out of old running shoes from designers in Chile. Paula Santana made a dress out of old shoes with a princess prom bodice and a tutu like flaring skirt made out of old running shoe high tops and rubber.
