Are Thongs Healthy For You?

Thongs have been fashion fierce for quite some time but are they really that healthy for you? As sexy as they are they can cause certain health dilemma. It is because the thong has one strip of fabric that is very thin that rides up inside the female anatomy. This strip of fabric can collect bacteria and cause infections.
One of the major problems would be a bladder infection. This is caused by stool getting on the strip of fabric and rubbing into the crotch. Human stool usually contains e coli bacteria.
The worst type of underwear is nylon or polyester. The best type is cotton because cotton underwear is more breathable. Whether you are wearing thong underewear or other types you can decrease your likelihood of getting a bladder infection or yeast infection.
Another thing to realize is that thongs can come in a big variety of sizes. Some of the fabric strips on thongs have thinner, thicker or looser strap. If the thong strap is too tight it can cause irritation of female genitals and it can even cause conditions like haemorrhoids.
Yet another type of infection that can occur is called contact dermatitis. This is caused by the straps of the thong rubbing too tightly against the genitals. This is also just simply a broad term to describe many different types of rashes. It is especially recommended that you not wear thong on a really hot day as that creates ideal conditions for creating a rash or infection.
Most doctors say that thongs should not be worn for every day wear but rather only special occasions. The main purpose of a thong was to get rid of the line that regular panties can produce beneath filmier and lighter fabrics. They were not really meant for every day wear because they are basically not that hygienic because of their design yet that is exactly what some people do.
If you must wear a thong then practicing impeccable female hygiene is an absolute necessity. This means that women must wipe themselves from front to back after going to the bathroom. This prevents the wearing of the thong from pushing bacteria from the anus forward back and into the vagina.
Still there is no doubt that thongs are a very pretty female lingerie item. They especially look good with very skimpy bras. Of course there are a few situations where it is not appropriate to wear a thong. You would not want to wear one under a very see through chiffon dress for instance as that would simply reveal too much.
Although thongs are considered to be a health risk by many there are several styles that have been popular for winter. Thicker thongs made out of cotton are recommended but the hottest styles feature red thongs made out of thicker swatches of velour or velvet.

Pricey Cell Phone Fashion

It is considered very fashion fierce to own an expensive cell phone especially if it is encrusted with jewels. There are some real designer gens out there on the cell phone market if you actually have big money to spend.
The respected fashion company Dolce & Gabbana has become one of the most sought after producers of luxury phones. Motorola RAZR fans can choose between a Diamond Edition Dolce & Gabbana V3 that features 855 diamonds or a 24K gold flip clam shell is a whopping3.8 carats. This comes in platinum or a gold color.
There is a silver version that costs a quarter of a million dollars and that is not shaped at all like a typical cell phone. The sides curve out alternately in an elegant way that makes it look more like a sparkly evening bag.
The Dolce & Gabbana phone is really one of the most sought after of fashion fierce bling style accessories. One of the most famous designers of these luxury jewel encrusted phones is Peter Aloisson who works for Dolce & Gabbana and Motorola. Mainly he designs beautiful casings to fit over the phone… This Austrian decided that he needed a gold phone to go with his other gold accessories like his pure gold sunglasses and watches.
Do you have a million dollars to spend on a phone? If so then you might want to buy Vertafish phone which is paved with 1220 carats of white diamonds. Only problem with this one is that despite its high price tag it has no Wi Fi! That’s right you can pay this much money for a phone that does not have any more services than your ordinary home phone.
Looking for something more funcitional and less glitzy. You might also want to check out the Black Diamond phone. It is 350 grand but it is loaded with perks and high tech cams and services. Celebrities clamor for this sleek black phone which is like the black Trnasam of cell phones. Only five are made a year so you need to order yours up right away.
A must have hot and trendy cell phone among Hollywood types is called the Skylink Ubaquim U300 which has 29 diamonds. The company originates from Russia where pimped out and binged out cell phones are really popular.
So what is the worst thing that can happen if you buy one of these phones? Obviously it is catastrophic if you lose it. Basically if you are going to spend a third of a million dollars or a quarter of a million dollars on a phone you should look into getting it insured.

The Purple Effect and Other Golden Globe Effects

The color purple is expected to be all the rage this year in 2009 and it was certainly in evidence in this year’s Golden Globes when all shades of violet and purple were in vogue. In fact some fashion experts are saying that dark purple is now becoming the “new black” Many of the celebrities on the golden globe carpet traded in basic black for eggplant, aubergine, grape and deep purple colors. Celebrities seen in the deep purple frocks were Hayden Panettiere, Rumer Willis and Anna Paquin.
One bad trend was the ruffles that dominated the pastel dresses of stars like Olivia Wide and Elizabeth Banks. The problem is that the frills on these floor length gowns looked like bundled up pieces of tissue paper. House star Olivia Wilde’s dress was particularly hideous looking more like one of the ugly Bridesmaid dresses from the movie “27 Dresses.” Elizabeth Banks dress looked so fussy it almost looked like a picked over old Chenille blanket. As prissy and old fashioned as hits look is we are bound to see versions of it on other red carpets throughout the year as well as in stores. It is likely that this type of dress that is adorned with chiffon nubbins will also be a popular choice of wear for bridesmaids and brides.
Another fashion trend spotted at the Golden Globes was the man wearing two hooped earrings. Colin Farrell boasted this look by wearing two small hoops. Mickey Rourke entered the fray wearing chains, rings and a blue belt.
J. Lo wore a very tired looking eights gown that looked like couch fabric draped in all the right places. The gown was also a very sallow green which in turn made her look sallow as well. Still the older set that admires J. Lo will probably try to emulate the look which was half Michael Kars half Japanese in flair. The gold and green gown was the brainchild of the actress Marchesa.
Blue is also going to be a big color this year thanks to the People’s choice favourites who were wearing it as gowns. Among these was Maggie Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway and Angelina Jolie. Anne Hahtaway was particularly stunning in an Armani Prive. Maggie Gyllenghall wore blue leopard prints and Jolie glittered in silver and blue hues by Atelier.
Many of the celebrities who were there opted for the very bright parrot like colors. These included Salma Hayek, Kate Bechinsale, Sandra Bullock, Eva Mendes and Miley Cyrus.
The queens of the black strapless dress which never go out of style were Kate Winslet who wore a midnight black Yves St. Laurent an Amy Adams who wore a black Oscar de la Renta with a gorgeous full ballroom skirt.

Make Up Trends for 2009

The Year 2009 is going to see some very interesting make up trends.  Much of it is going to have a look that is a little more Goth or eighties.

This is certainly true of the lipstick trends for 2009.  The looks that are cool are going to be the deep reds, blueberries and burgundies.  Lipstick that is glossy and black is also coming back into fashion.  These looks will ahead been seen on the runways of designers like Carolina Herrara, Peter Som and Donna Karan.

To pull this off without looking to vampirish make up experts suggest wearing next to no make up elsewhere on the face.  A touch of white eyeliner with bright red lips looks very modern.  You don’t even need to wear mascara.

Yet another trend that is going to be hot is the nude lipstick trend. This is seen on the runways of designers like Oscar del La Renta, Versace and Fendi.  It is complimented best with very smoky looking eyes.

Bold pink lips will also be in fashion. These are the lighter pink shades. They look best with a heavy application of eyeliner in a chocolate brown or almost black color on the eyes.

Bright blue make up is also making a comeback.  This is part of the eighties redux as well. The idea is to find make up that is electric blue as possible. This make up is worn all over the eyelid in thick blocks.   This look has been seen on the runways of Tuleh, Nina Ricci and Oscar de La Renta as well.

Dark and smoky eyes are also a real trend especially if mixed with gold. Dark eye make up rarely goes out of style and hits year it was prevalent at Gucci, Lagerfeild and Chanel. The raccoon look made popular in the eighties, is also back and women will definitely be wearing more dark eye shadow than usual.

Soft pink blush is also in the works for being trendy makeup for 2009, especially on a barer face with just a touch of eyeliner. Pink blush has been seen on the makeup models at Versace, Michael Kars, Michal Jacobs and others.

As for eyebrows, the thicker and darker they are the more fashionable they will be.  Comb stray hairs upwards to make them seem even more prominent.  This type of style was signature to the makeup looks offered by Jeremy Laing, Prada, Philip Lim, Fend and other prominent designers.  Think Marguaux Hemingway in the eighties and you get an idea of the look that is coming up in style.  Just make sure the brows are even and perfectly symmetrical for them to work their best.

Men’s 2009 Hair Styles

Men’s hair styles go in cycles as do women’s style. This century is seeing contemporary versions or redux if you will of haircuts we saw in the last century. Thus when it comes to men’s hair styles we are once again seeing those old hair styles with a new twist. There are two distinct categories of style that are going to dominate the hair style scenes in 2009. The first category is the school boy look and the second category is the rocker book. Both find their roots (noun intended) in 19th century Britain. The fringed bang is also very popular with men’s hair styles this year. The beauty is that the fringe trend comes in a variety of shapes so you are going to be able to play with the look so that it suits the shape of your face. Whatever the bangs look like the idea is to keep it shorter on the back and sides. There are two types of fringes that dominated the catwalk. One was the side swept fringe where the hair is parted on either the right or left. The other is the more like a bang that goes right down to the brow. The Caesar cut, pioneered by George Clooney in the series ER is also back. This is the cut where the hair is brushed straight forward into bangs from the crown. Russell Crow has also been known to the front of the head. The overall effect depends on using a pomade or matte wax to create a slightly rugged texture to the hairdo. The great thing about this cut is that you can also make it into a completely rugged hairdo by rubbing wax through it so that you look like you have a chic case of “bed head.” The Slick Back type of classic cut is also back. This is the type of hair cut you used to see on actors like George Mason and it is the haircut that George Clooney wears nowadays. The cut is very simple and every barber knows how to do it. Usually it is slicked back with a hair product like Beryl Cream. In fact the older the school the slick back product is the better this trendy yet also classic haircut is going to look. How the Slick Back Cut looks can also depend on whether or not your hair is wavy or straight. Guys with straight hair need a longer length of hair left on top. Guys with wavy hair should go for shorter hair on top with a few inches in length left depending on the pervasiveness of your wave. Along with this haircut comes a part called the Classic Part which is way over to the side of the head on either the left or the right. Think of the kind of part you would see on Cary Grant of the Duke of Windsor and you get the idea.

Hair Color Trends for 2009

There are very definite trends each year when it comes to what is fashionable in the world of hair color. You will soon see these trends being suggested by all kinds of hairdressers across the country. Hair colors like accessories or the fashion themselves are first seen on runways and certain cuts and colors are often suggested by the look of a powerful supermodel or the taste of a big designer.
When it comes to blonde hair there are two major trends – dirty blonde and platinum blonde. It is Kate Moss, the uber model, who is probably responsible for this one. She recently died her mousy brown locks a dirty blonde and got bangs.
In 2008 we saw brassy blonde hair with darker roots which is reminiscent of Madonna some years ago. Nowadays this average blonde is being traded in for a dirty blonde with is a lot more natural looking than other types. This means that in 2009 you will see more roots, streaks and lowlights in hair than we have seen in a while. You will not be seeing a blonde helmet that is all one color.
The platinum blonde trend was spurred on by Lindsay Lohan, who also excited everyone with her long fringed bangs this year. The platinum blonde look is a bit rawer looking and it is fashionable to wear hair that is a bit straw like in texture. This slightly damaged look to straw blonde hair is also very eighties in flair. Those of us old enough to remember equate it with pop stars such as Blondie.
Last year bright red hair was in but this year the most popular color is going to be a brownish auburn. Burgundy, caramel and maroon colors here. The key here is to go for a more cinnamon or paprika like shade. The red and brown mix of hues in auburn hair color also looks very natural. The effect is very romantic, like Julianne Moore in the movie called “The End of the Affiar.” This is not a brash eighties effect at which is surprising because the Crayola reds from that era seem like they should be more popular. Instead the effect of these auburns is much more casual, natural and romantic. Strawberry blondes and brown shades with just a hint of caramel or cinnamon hues are likely to be very popular for the summer and then in the winter of 2009 we will probably see those darken to hair colors that are more “chocolate” in hue.
Another big trend is blonde hair color for men. The idea is that men should choose a blonde shade that is slightly lighter than what they would normally choose. It is okay to think of looking like Andy Warhol this year.
However the silver white that was so trendy a few years ago is not as cool as it was on either men or women. You need a more matte blonde color. Also to pull this look off the Andy Warhol like hair color f the hue should be solid and one tone. Another inspiration – think Peter Gray in the old Mission Impossible series.

Hair Trends for 2009

There are several trends for hair that will be fashion fierce for Spring 2008 and here is a look at the top beguiling styles.
First of the trends is back to the bob again. This is almost an eternal trend. It seems that every year there are hairstyles like thinks with just slight variations in what the bob might look like from year to year. For 2009 it should be a side swept style that is reminiscent of the 1920s and 1930s. This type of bob cut should also be side swept in a way that is very reminiscent of the flappers or burlesque dancers from that era. Hair for spring can even be worn gelled back.
Yet another trend is the Fringe. This simply means getting long sexy bangs. There are several types of fringes you can get but the one that is most in style and that is the safest choice is called the Blunt Fringe. The hair is cut evenly from temple to temple and straight across from temple to temple. It is no fuss, no muss type of cut.
You can also get a fringe that has been dubbed the Kate Moss fringe. These are bangs that are a little uneven and slightly long. The idea is that they sit slightly in front of their eyes. This is not the most practical style but it is sought after ever since Kate Moss got rid of her signature center part and brought back bangs.
You could also consider getting a pixie fringe which is essentially the shortest, Betty Page, style of bang. Since Betty Page looks are expected to be more popular than ever since she passed away you can expect this to be a prominent trend.
The Pixie cut, also called the Crop, is also back. These crops are boyish cuts but they feature haircuts with very long bangs. It is a boyish hairdo but also very attractive. Victoria Beckham is the example of a celebrity who has this type of hair cut.
Yet another important hair trend is the sleek side part. This is a seventies part where the hair is slicked right across the side of the head. The hair can also be tied up near the nape of the neck for a neater effect.
Styles from the thirties and forties are also popular. These are side swept romantic styles that are soft and feminine. This style is not as wild as it can be this year as the idea is not too look too wild and messy. The look should be romantic, yet restrained with only a few escaping tendrils of hair.
Masculine hairstyles, reminiscent of the eighties are also back. These feature hair with big bangs slicked up or even done up rock ably style with a mess of hair at the front.

Heel Styles for 2008

There are several types of shoe styles that are going to be back for 2008 and the big question is always “What is the heel trend that is coming up.”
The first big trend that is going to be hot for 2008 is the stiletto. Stilettos are spitting in the face of the chunky heeled revolution that took hold of the fashion industry a few years ago. The most popular styles are those which are going to have a platform hidden on the front of the shoe with the heel supported by the chunky platform. Designers that have jumped on this trend are DSqured1, Yves St. Laurent and Balenciaga.
However that does not mean that thick chunky heels have gone away. They are back around for next year. They are like a hangover from this past Fall. Designers that are still doing the big chunky heel include Christian Dior, Marni and Chanel. These chunky round toed styles of shoes are definitely easier to walk in so make the most of them while you can – before they go out of style!
Another big trend is the tapered heel. These are more conical and interesting looking. They slope a bit at the back. They are not a classic shape which in a way is good because it means that they are so unique you can wear them for years. They look especially space age in a color like silver. Burberry and Zac Posen are marketing shoes like this for the Spring.
The squared off toe is also still very much in vogue. This is a blunter toe then we have ever seen and you are sure to see it in open toed styles for Spring from designers such as Prada, Christian Dior, Marnik and Calvin Klien. This heel is a mutant of the round toe that was seen in 2008. It makes for an edgy looking shoe especially if the heel is quite high.
Designers such as Akris, Fendi and Badgely Mischka are making above the knee boots that are very svelte looking and look hot over tights, jeans or pants. Chanel, of course is making a quilted version. The heels on this boots will also be flatter and smaller. The most popular material for them is suede or fake suede.
Lace up Victorian shoes and boots are also back and we really haven’t seen this type of thing be all the rage since the eighties. Some designers are also making lace up leggings to go with this style of boot as well. They are also made in all kinds of interesting textures and colors. The round toes are still in vogue with this style but we can also expect to see more and more pointed shoe styles as well. Designers making the lace up Victorian skate style high heel include Chanel, Alberta Ferretti, Pillip Lim and Marnie.

Victorian Ball Gown Chic

Goth never quite goes away and part of that look is the Victorian theme. This is especially true when it comes to ball gowns. Formal wear has always had hints of Victoriana in it simply because the sweeping floor length gown was so popular during that era. It was a look that never went away and each year it is a mainstay.
Balls were a staple of Victorian life, especially the upper classes. They were a chance to show off your wealth and good taste. Nowadays they are a chance to show off your eccentricities and ability to integrate vintage lace and details with contemporary clothing styles. These clothes should be prim and proper yet also very elegant. Although Victorian styles were a bit staid, they were at the same time incredibly sexy. Ladies at Victorian dances always looked incredibly attractive even thought they were concealing a lot.
You can get this style of gown everywhere still. You only have to look hard through the racks of any place selling formal gowns. Victorian styling never went out style. You can still find dresses with full or partial detail reminiscent of the era. You can find gowns that have fluffy lace cravats and high collars as well as the long buttoned sleeves. You can still find gowns with bustles or even just a suggestion of a bustle that is created by some gathering of fabric hitched dup at the back of the dress.
Victorian ball gowns are still in vogue. You can wear them to a night club or a charity ball. Thanks to Madonna, Avril Lavigne and other stars these gowns are just considered chic. They are characterized by sweeping satin skirts. Many are trimmed with lace. Many also have low daring décolletage which is reminiscent of the whole Goth thing. This is especially true if the dress is red or black and very low cut.
The short ballet skirt that is a bit stiff and that is combined with a cape is also distinctly Victorian in gist. The woman who wears a top hat is also a Victorian thing….even though we associate it more with Marlene Dietrich and her outfits from the 1930s.
Having the right accessories makes all the difference when you wear a Victorian ball gown. You can add some great touches by wearing the kid boots in colored leather. These boots usually have elegant corrode buttons up the side. You can also add some long or short white gloves to complete the outfit. Vintage and costume jewellery also makes this stuff a hit.
Of course Victorian ball gown chic does not just have to be about parties. It is also very possible to combine a corset with a short contemporary skirt or a high cut Victorian shirt with pants to just give an outfit that Victorian flair. The style translates very well today wear but it does not exclusively have to be about just day wear.

Fashion Fierce Tennis Player

Female tennis players are incredibly fashionable nowadays and many of them now also have their own fashion lines. Becoming a tennis wear designer is one way of extending your career far beyond where you have to.
A good example of a tennis star who is also a fashion designer is Ana Ivanovic. This Serbian is only twenty one years but she became famous after she won the French Open in June of 2008. She is incredibly attractive and a whopping six foot one in height. She is so overwhelmingly attractive and stiff in her movements that she looks just like a model on the catwalk on the court and hits really contributes to her appeal. However she is not an overt fashion horse., She cheerfully wears edgy little dresses with cyan blue or neon red adiddas while on the court which gives her both a masculine and feminine edge at the same time. Her androgynous blend of male and female stylings definitely stole the scene when it came to tennis court fashion in 2008 and her casual chic on the courts is definitely imitated by women from allover the world.
Yet another incredibly fashionable tennis player is Maria Kirlenko who wears Stella McCartney’s fabulous tennis line. Part of Stella McCartney’s appeal is that everything looks great on ordinary women as well. The skirts she wears are marketed as having just enough of that sexy sassy pleating to look great on the tennis court. She wears the pert and perky Stella McCartney styles well but there is a caveat here. The Stella McCartney styles don’t necessarily look that great on people who are a lot older. They are mainly meant for the younger set.
Venus Williams is tennis fashion royalty. She has her own line of clothes, which she also models at her tennis matches. The twenty year old contemporary tennis star offers her practical tennis clothing and accessories at a very modest price so every female player in the world can look good on the court.
Yet another big star on the court is Maria Sharpova is wears some of the boldest and most creative costumes on the court. A good example is the Swan lake style dress that she wore to a Wimbledon match in 2007 that came complete with fake feathers on her back. This glamorous six foot two blonde can afford to dress up as she makes about twenty million dollars a year.
Another clothes horse on the tennis court is Jelena Jankovic who is an outgoing personality whose clothing is a mix of tough athleticism and alluring femininity. She makes sure she wears outfits that accommodate the fancy moves she makes on the courts – such as doing the splits.
One of the boldest of the fashionable tennis players is the young Bethanie Mattek who likes to bounce around the court displaying a full generous cleavage. This fashionable publicity stunt has landed this interesting tennis player a place on the front pages of the British tabloids for days after she plays a match.
