Why is it that 34 C is the bra cup size that most women want to be? It might have something to do with a topic that is a far cry from anything to do with fashion especially if you want to listen to what the evolutionary biologists have to say about the whole matter of breast size.
It seems that the human animal’s predilection for seeing symmetry as a beautiful thing goes way back to the cave men days. If you were not symmetrical it meant that you were not suitable for mating because you had an affliction such as parasites or a a flesh eating bacteria. If your bra size is a 34C then your breasts are more than likely in a pleasant proportion to your hips and also to your rump when you turn sideways. Humans are hardwired to see this balance of proportion as attractive and anything unbalanced as less attractive sexually. This means being top heavy or bottom heavy in terms of your figure is not a good thing.
Males are also hardwired from those primitive times to see an hourglass figure as attractive. It is an indication of fertility. If the female’s body was too matronly back then she would not be seen as suitable for mating. She would also not be seen as suitable for mating if she was too thin as that meant her babies would be thin too. 34 C is a size that to this day symbolizes a body that is youthful and also in proportion.
Of course whether or not a 34 C is proportionate on you depends on your height and other factors. If you are five feet tall 34 C might endow you with huge breasts. If you are six foot one then 34 C might have you looking a little flat chested.
In North America we also have lots of cultural influences with regards to breast size. For instance, you have heard that old saying that when it comes to a certain part of the anatomy — “Size matters?” Many men would maintain that the same holds true about the breasts.
Not only does size matter but shape may too. Many men find breasts that are rounder and set closer together more attractive then ones that are splayed apart. The 34 C size implies a woman who has a smaller ribcage with larger breasts which is not only attractive in terms of a man’s hardwired evolutionary biology but also in terms of today’s cultural attitudes.
The other reason that 34 C is popular among women is because it is a tad more demure than 36 C. A lot of bombshells, tramps and sirens are 36 C or higher. These include actresses such as Alyssa Milano, Angelina Jolie, Anita Ekberg, Ann Margaret and Bette Davis. Actresses who are 34 C tend to be more like ordinary mortal women. Celebrities who wear a 34 C are Brooke Adams, Brooke Shields, Courtney Cox, Donna Dixon, Elle Macpherson, Ellen Barkin, Gillian Anderson, Jamie Lee Curtis and the always popular “Jenny from the Block” – Jennifer Lopez.

apply including seamless, slimming, strapless and uplifting. This is because most of the dresses that are worn for special occasions are strapless and made out of filmy materials that show every lump or bump on the body.
Every big bra company makes some kind of seamless bra that has fabric adhered to a molded cup specifically so that your breasts will look nicer under items such as wintry cashmere sweaters or see though chiffon blouses. The idea is to get the right cup size when you buy this type of bra or you could end up with unattractive bulges under your arms. If in doubt buy a size a bit larger and fill any vacuum with Kleenex or one of the gel filled “pork cutlet” style cup enhancing accessories.
Molded bras also come in a strapless variety that are a bandeau style that fastens in the back. These bras usually have a fair amount of elastic in them so that they stay up when you wear them. You can also get bras that fit inside gowns and prom dresses that are merely molded bra cups. There are no straps or anything as these uplifting molded bra cups are simply affixed to the body with adhesive tape. These types of self-adhesive molded bra cups are ideal if you need breast support while wearing a strapless gown with a very low cut back.
If you are wearing a chiffon style type and don’t want your bra straps to show you can try removing them completely and replacing them with clear plastic straps. This gives you security and support but the straps are invisible beneath your clothing.
You can also get bras that have prints and themes to them that suit various holidays. For instance a green bra or one with shamrocks on it suits St. Patrick’s Day. You can get red and green lingerie with little tufts of fur for Christmas. Of course the day that beats all others in terms of being a favorite day to wear a novelty bra is St. Valentine’s Day. This is the day when it is most permitted to wear that lacy or filmy creation that is guaranteed to seduce your lover.
As some holiday tops and dresses can be quite elaborate it might be necessary to buy straps that extend your bra so it fastens in the back below the low cut of a dress. You can even buy clear plastic pieces with hooks and eyes that extend across the back and that go unnoticed if you have a dress with peekaboo holes in its design in the back.
If you like shine and glitter you can make one of the new rhinestone or metallic bra straps part of your total outfit by having it glint from beneath the edge of your top or from beneath the back of your dress. You can also get these straps embellished with roses, bows or symbols to do with the holidays such as Christmas tree prints.

Sometimes when you embark on a weight loss program it helps to dress to look slimmer. This is not only good for your self-esteem but it can also help be a motivating factor when it comes to giving you the discipline to stick with those healthy life style changes. Of course you need to only take this article seriously if you are frightened of being judged by other people. Hopefully you are proud of your body no matter what size it is and will resolve to take care of it no matter what you are wearing. Still it is within the scope of human nature to feel insecure, especially when you feel fat and its time to go to the gym.
Many overweight people simply do not embark on a work out program as they are afraid of looking bad in a gymsuit or sweatsuit. Nowadays you can buy gymsuits that are more like a pair of yoga pants plus a t-shirt. The pants are low waisted, which causes a potbelly to look smaller. The tops also are longer and tend to have longer sleeves to conceal fatter looking arms.
In the swimsuit department you will now find all kinds of different slimming styles including swimsuits that look like dresses and tannins which look like a suit with a muscle shirt over it (only less see through.) Wrap around bathing suits can also have a slimming effect on the body. If you are self conscious about your legs you can also buy a wrap and wear it like a skirt until you get to the “safety” of the change room. For overweight men bathing suits that are more like large boxers are also a better option than that Borat style yellow Speedo.
There are also some tricks that you can use to look slimmer when it comes to your every day wear as well. For instance both men and women who are a tad large should stay away form t-shirts that are short sleeved or cap sleeved. This has the effect of showcasing large or droopy underarms with wings. Instead opt for shirts with three quarter length sleeves. Long sleeves are also a good choice if weather permits.
Overweight women should also always wear a bra. This is because drooping breasts make you look a lot fuller in the body. Once you lift the breasts your upper body tends to look slimmer and tighter in general. You can also buy body slimming underwear made out of Lycra by reputable companies like Spanks. These types of undergarments, which aren’t at all like the old fashioned girdles from yesteryear, can really help smooth out and shape your body.
When it comes to jeans, the style known as low cut, low-waited or low rise looks best on fat or pear shaped people. This is because these jeans sit well below a potbelly, which in turn lengthens your body’s silhouette. Jeans that have a looser cut and a slight flare also look better on people who are heavier.
Whether you are considering a pair of jeans or a pair of regular dress pants you should also avoid “mom pants.” Mom Pants have an elastic waist. Clothes with an elastic waist send the message to others that you are fat so try to find a pair of pants with a fitted waist whenever you can. You should also avoid pants with too many back pockets, pocket flaps or pleats as these add bulk to the outline of your body.
When choosing fabrics make sure the grain of it or the pattern of it always runs vertically up and down the body as this vertical striping effect creates the illusion of a thinner body. Horizontal stripes can make a person look fatter than they really are. In general it is also true that the darker the fabric is in color, the slimmer you are likely to look. However dressing in black as so become the uniform of the fatter woman that even wearing it head to toe might indicate that you are overweight!
Another trick to making your body look slimmer is to wear accessories that are slightly oversized. Rings, watches, purses and belts can all be a little bigger in dimension in usual. This tricks the eye into making you look slimmer.
Another clue to dressing to look slimmer is to always buy a size that is a bit big for you. For instance if you are a size 16, buy a size 18. Clothes that hang a little looser on the body always have the effect of making a person look slimmer.

When fitting your bathing suit top you should follow the same rules that you would if you were trying on a bra. The rules apply whether you are trying on a bikini top or a one-piece suit.
First of all, you should find out your bra size, as it is almost always the same as your swimsuit size. Then you need to count on trying on bathing suit sizes within at least one size on either side of what you usually wear as bathing suit manufacturers have absolutely no standards when it comes to determining breast size for a bathing suit. The result is racks and racks of swimsuits hanging in every store with bra cups and torso sizes that come in every permutation. All it seems you can do sometimes to find out if something fits is to try it on. A bathing suit is very hard to buy just by eyeing it for size.
Thankfully bathing suits are sold in two pieces in recent years. This means that if you are top heavy but have slim hips you don’t have to buy suit where there the bottoms are too big or the top is too tight. You can now select the tankini or bikini top you want and match it with the skorts, panties or thong that you would like and get a perfect fit every time.
The second rule to follow is to try and avoid buying a swimsuit that has a torso band that is too big and a breast cup that is too small. This is a common mistake that many women seem to make. They often don’t notice that their breast are bulging out of the side of the molded cup of the bathing suit until they have worn it a few hours and it starts to feel painful.
If you are buying a bathing suit that does not have a molded cup covered with fabric then make sure it is lined properly. Believe it or not some swimsuits are made merely for lying around the pool and getting a suntan and not being immersed in water. Make sure that the fabric it is made of is thick enough to cover your naughty bits when it is wet.
If you are buying a halter style top make sure that it has some kind of secure clip or tie at the back and that the straps are not made of a material that is too stretchy or slippery. This type of bathing suit has the bad habit of slipping lower and lower when you are in the water.
Finally when buying a bathing suit make sure that it fits rather snugly even when you have it hooked on the last hook. This is because the bands on the torsos of bikinis and on one-piece bathing suits tend to become looser as they get wet. You want to make sure that as the suit expands from wear and tear that you can do it up on the inner hooks to make it fit again as time goes on.

There is one occasion on which you should try and look your most fashionable and that is to a wedding.
If you are a woman –
DON’T wear white because it makes you look like you are in competition with the bride!
DON’T wear black – that is more appropriate for funerals and tradition says it is bad luck for the couple. However if it is an evening wedding you can get away with wearing a little black dress.
DON’T wear sequins – it’s considered tacky.
DON’T wear arm length gloves unless the bride has asked you to or unless it is a very formal affair.
DON’T wear flip flops or shoes that are way too casual or you will look like you are not respecting the ceremony.
DO try and find out from the bridesmaid if there is a color theme or any other kind of theme to the window. Sometimes you can dress more appropriately if you know that. For instance if you know that the wedding has a forties theme you might have a little suit in your closet that suits that theme.
DO wear something appropriate out of respect for your hosts. Stay away from club wear or slutty looking clothes.
DO wear florals or floral prints, especially if it is a summer wedding.
If you are a man –
DO wear a dark suit with a tie if the wedding is after six pm.
DON’T wear sunglasses to try and look like a gangster.
DON’T Be unshaven if it is not appropriate.
DON’T wear a tuxedo unless you are asked to by the groom. Otherwise you might be suspected of competing with the groom.
If you are bridesmaid it is not cool to try and change the look of your bridesmaid dress if it does not suit you in some way. You are well advised to just put up with the dress for a day even if you find it really objectionable.
If you are a bridegroom the same rule applies. You should not try to alter the groom’s suit you are given to wear even if it is an outrageous color.
Be sure to use good judgment if the invitation doesn’t specify the formality of the event. A dark suit and conservative tie will take you just about anywhere if you are a man and that light floral dress with a shawl is appropriate for most women.

The Sex and the City movie came out a month or so ago but we are seeing the trends from it influencing street fashion. This is particularly true of sunglasses. Inspired by flashy 1970s aviator skiing glasses you see Jessica Sarah Parker wearing MYKITA & Bernhard Willhelm gold aviators. These glasses come in pinks, blues and golds!
The fashion illustrated in Sex and the City is actually surprisingly affordable. It is mostly shoes and sundresses and loose bags. The designer versions worn in the movie are easily accessible in stores.
The hair in that movie was very seventies. The big look sported by Carrie Bradshow was sexy, polished waves. The Carrie look for the hair was very loose and carefree.
Charlotte’s hair, by contrast was also loose and polished but it also had a touch of old Hollywood glamour. This look is best achieved using Velcro rollers or smoothing big sections of the hair with a curling iron.
Samantha’s hair in the movie is also very Hollywood. It also is created with hot rollers, even when it is tied up in a chignon.
The short bob never sees to go out of style and that is what is seen on Miranda. The difference is that there is a shine called the “ribbon effect” created by the use of a flat iron. The whole do is then made shiny with use of a gloss or a mist.
Another look inspired by this movie is the plaid shirt. Especially fashionable is the plaid shirt that has a lining on the outside and the inside created from different patterns.
There is a touch of the eighties prevalent in the movie was well. You see this trend in the cuff bracelets that girls are wearing. They tend to have snap clasps and be riddled with big fake jewels, buttons and pearls. We have not seen this luxurious overdone look in a jeweler for a very long time.
Yet another seventies trend is the suede pump. You do not see that trend so much in the summer sandal as you do in more formal wear.
You see clogs in this movie but stilettos are much more prevalent, especially on Sarah Jessica Parker who wears them with flea market finds.
Charlotte has a preppy style that is always accompanied by the proper bag and shoes. Bows, cute prints and feminine styles play up the kind nature of her character.
Other Sex and the City trends include “initial necklaces” and flower pins with big fake stones in them

If you want to look sexy at the beach it takes a bit of self care. Here are some tips for being your absolute best this summer.
First thing you should have in your beach beauty bag is a cream shadow. These slick shadows stay on the eyes longer than powder especially if it is really hot and humid. Popular sheds this summer are bright aqua blue and sandy beige.
You should also have a sunscreen, preferably a light spray on one or a light lotion that can be used on the face. The SPF in the sunscreen can help ward off fine lines and wrinkles and can help maintain a youthful glow. There are many make up companies including Kiss My Face, Tocca and Nature’s Gate that make sunscreens that fit the bill.
You can also fake a clear glowing complexion with SPF makeup. This means blotting excess oil or sweat with a light, shimmering powder bronzer. You can now also get undereye concealers that have bronzer in them so you don’t get that “inverse” raccoon look.
Body bronzer is also essential. People often have bronzer for the face in their beach bag but they forget that the body needs work as well. It is a good idea to focus on areas where the sun would usually hit such as shoulders and decolletage.
The mix of sweat and sand on your body can use a bit of disguising sometimes. Fashion fierce bodies smell better if you keep a light fragrance handy such as Infusion de Therese Eau de Parfum Spray or Victoria’s Secret Heavenly Flowers Scent.
If you want your eyeliner to stay on then it is a good idea to wear the ones that look like markers. You can get smudge proof versions of this that stay on forever and that come in different shades. Stila, Stockholm and Sephora all make versions of this.
If you are worried about having “beach hair” then be sure to bring an SPF hair spray to protect it from the sun. Many of these newer hair protectors have heat protection and UV filters built right into their formulas.
There are also lots of waterproof mascaras on the market that can help you avoid developing raccoon eyes. Opt for waterproof mascara that does not make your eyelashes brittle. You can now get formulas with a low wax content with no solvent in them. Added wheat germ oil and vitamin e oil can prevent lashes from breaking!

The problem with clogs is that they are always unwieldy, clunky and awkward looking. So how is it that they always seem to be in style? They are noisy, uncomfortable and you can sound like a horse clopping around if you choose the wrong kind. They can be downright ugly as well. However whether you like it or not clogs are in style again this summer for both woman and men.
Crocs weren’t so bad because they were made of rubber. However they were still clogs and they could be so uncomfortable. These are a far cry from the horse clogs that were much more fashionable in the 90s. These looked great with loose cut jeans and Japanese fashions.
One of the reasons that women like clogs is that they can make your legs look quite shapely. The fashion rule is that the shorter the shorts or skirt the better they are going to look in a pair of clogs.
The key to making a pair of clogs look good is contrast. The frillier an outfit is the more it is going to look good with the heft that comes along with a pair of clogs. It’s all about balance. They look the best with A line or tulip flared skirts. They don’t really look that great with very narrow skirts.
Clogs look surprising good with anything leather including long leather pants or leather skirts. If the clogs have studs anthem they can start looking quite sexy.
Leather clogs look good with jeans and bloomer shorts. They also look good with a long skirt. On the runway this spring the Chanel collection was showcased with leather clogs with lots of studs in them. The most striking ones were done in white. Some of these clogs also came with lace ups which gave them quite a kinky look. Karl Lagerfield designed a very high pair of high heels that were spectacular looking but they looked very hard to walk on. Walking in clogs should not be like wearing Japanese torture devices.
The best way to wear a pair of clogs is with a big sense of humor. They were not meant to wear to the office. They do not go well with nylons. However they do go well with a pair of knee socks! However don’t go too far with the knee socks. Striped knee socks can make you look a bit like the “joker.”

Being fashion fierce is about being well put together and that should be true starting with your very foundations. Here are some tips for looking for looking your best by selecting the right underwear.
Even the most impeccably dressed women look out of it when their underwear is bunched up and gathering in all the wrong places. Yes we are talking about panty lines! If you have panty lines you really look out of it and unprofessional and like you don’t know a thing about fashion.
Make sure that your underwear fits so you can look great. No matter how wonderful your dress is you are not going to look that great if your dress is off-kilter because of underwear that pulls or is too tight.
Being comfortable in your own skin and in your clothes is what makes you look confident and beautiful. That means choosing great underwear. Don’t let underwear mishaps make you look sloppy.
Don’t let common underwear mishaps cramp your style. Find an alternative to the ill-fitting, wayward panties and bras you once knew and try something more comfortable. Your body will thank you! Furthermore you will just look more relaxed and comfortable.
You should also avoid letting clothing tags stick out of clothes and having them draw attention to your underwear. This looks tacky, awkward and unnatural. You want a long sleek line to your body. You should also avoid drawing attention to undergarments by having them peeking out from under your clothes. Being comfortable in your underwear also helps. Cotton stretch underwear helps you feel care-free.
A cotton stretch thong with contemporary low-rise pants is also good. They look discreet beneath hipster jeans and low waist pants. Thongs that are too tight make a line across you back side causing you to look like you have a double cheeked rear end. If you are full figured buy underwear that is big enough and actually fit.
Wearing a really comfortable bra also helps. Try a sports bra with a spaghetti strap for optimum comfort. Fruit of the Look makes a good one. Avoid the tight confining bras that can have you pulling at your clothing and looking unprofessional.
Every woman’s wardrobe should have a few fun pieces, but for day-to-day office and home wear, there’s nothing more comfortable – and affordable – than cotton underwear. If it has a bit of stretch to it that is all the better as it might have a slight toning and slimming effect.

Wild and loud printed graphics are in fashion again. Patterns also offer an easy way for you to liven up your wardrobe. However depending on your age and height patterns may or may not be for you. Not everybody is flattered by the same patterns. Certain graphic patterns don’t look great on all body shapes.
The basic idea is that you must be wearing the pattern and not the other way around. The pattern should not be “wearing you.” The rule of thumb is that if you are large you can wear large graphics but if you are small you can wear small ones. However there are some exceptions to this rule. Sometimes a small person can look good in a pattern with one large dominant motif.
One thing you need to keep in mind is that it is the patterns that are opposite of your face shape that are most flattering. So if you have a round face stay away from polka dots. Square shapes or stripes look better with a round face. The thing is to add a bit of contrast so you do not seem as if you smack of effort.
The latest fashion trends embrace mixing and matching patterns such as floral skirts topped with striped shirts and polka-dotted blouses matched with striped pants.
Vertical patterns such as vertical stripes convey strength and authority. They’re great for tinier women who want added height because vertical stripes elongate, making you look slimmer. They are more conservative in look.
Horizontal stripes can make you appear more casual. However they can also make you look a lot heavier than you have to. If you are going to wear them to the office make sure the stripes are thinner are you could look slobby. Thick stripes are associated with casual wear.
If you really want to look slim try wearing diagonal stripes. Diagonal stripes convey energy and creativity and are the most slimming of graphics. If you are overweight and want to look great in a swimsuit try ones with a diagonal swish pattern to them.
Floral patterns say girly girl and are perfect for social gatherings like weddings. However do not pick a floral pattern where the flowers are too large. Make sure it is proportionate to your size. A small woman should choose a small to medium size floral print. Larger women will find floral prints more flattering.
Of course nothing like this is ever definitive. The best thing to do is try on the pattern to see if it suits you.
